Elle plunged her face into the air,
felt the dryness wash over her skin. She exhaled through her nose and
heard the bubbles rise to the surface. For a few seconds, Elle
pretended she could swim immersed in air for hours, but soon her
lungs cried out for water. She grudgingly returned to the sea.
